What is the Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Dip?
it’s all about “Cold Toes and Warm Hearts” as members of the local community or “polar dippers” brave the icy waters to raise funds and awareness for Camp Sunshine. The polar dip’s goal is to raise funds in excess of $30,000 to send 12 children from New York with life-threatening illnesses, and their families, to Camp Sunshine in 2017.
Founded in 1984, Camp Sunshine provides retreats combining respite, recreation and support, white enabling hope and promoting joy, for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families through the various stages of a child’s illness. Camp Sunshine is the only program in the nation offered year-round with the distinction of having been designed to serve the entire family in retreat model. The program is free of charge to families and includes on-site medical and psychosocial support.
