The Amityville Justice Court is tasked with trying violations and misdemeanors in Penal Law, as well as vehicle and traffic violations and misdemeanors. The Village Prosecutor handles Village Ordinances and parking tickets and the Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney is responsible for all vehicular, traffic and criminal (Penal Law) misdemeanors and violations.
Marriages: Both the Village Justice and the Associate Village Justice can perform wedding ceremonies in the Court. Please call the Court Clerk for details: (631) 691-3303.
Court Sessions (held on the 3rd Floor; 21 Ireland Place):
1st Tuesday of the Month: 5:30 PM – Village Ordinances and Parking Tickets, Vehicle & Traffic and Penal Laws
2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesday of the Month – 6:00 PM – Vehicle and Traffic infractions and violations and misdemeanors of Penal Law; if eligible, a Public Defender may be assigned.
Summons Payments:
For your convenience, the Village Justice Court accepts online payments of all parking tickets, pre-conviction and post-conviction fees and fines due to the Court. Please be advised that credit card payments are subject to a service fee (displayed at time of payment), which neither the Court nor the municipality receives any portion of.
If you have an outstanding parking and/or (pre-conviction) summons returnable before the Amityville Village Justice Court, you may be able to pay this fine by credit card. Please contact the Court at 1(631)691-3303, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., to determine if your summons can be paid on-line with a credit card.
Payments may continue to be made by cash, certified bank funds, or money order without the additional service fee. However, if partial payment is made on-line, it is the responsibility of the defendant to contact the Amityville Village Justice Court for their next payment date.
